Tasha Meys - @TastefullyTash

I couldn’t think of a better person to start this Movers&Shakers segment with then the one and only Tasha Meys.

If you have never heard of @TastefullyTash stop what you are doing right now and check her out before you continue reading this.

Tasha is one incredibly kind, talented and absolutely kick ass human who grew up in the same small town in New Zealand as myself, but has moved over to LA and is living her own dream. If you need any help with social media content creation, recipes, photography or just some general good vibes she’s your girl. She’s the whole reason I had the balls to start EME as it is.

Now for the interview I was lucky enough to have…Go grab a cuppa, sit back and enjoy.

What made you start Tatefullytash?
I wanted to start sharing my healthy recipes, art and photography. I considered starting a blog first, but have always loved Instagram. I used to spend all my time looking at other peoples health and wellness Instagram’s and slowly realised that was what I wanted to be doing. I finally took the plunge after making it a goal when I was on Outward Bound.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Just start whatever it is you’re thinking of starting – there will never be a perfect time to do it otherwise. No one truly knows what they’re doing, even the people who appear to be killing it.

What does your everyday morning look like?
My routine differs depending on if I’m getting up at 5am to go to the fitness centre in Santa Monica I do social media for. If I’m not going to the fitness centre I wake up around 7am, go for a walk/run then have breakfast. The rest of my is morning is spent listening to podcasts or music, lying on my apartment floor working. My work includes building my social media agency, working on client work or creating tastefully content.

What time of day are you most creative?
I’m a morning person but creatively I seem to thrive in the afternoons!

What inspires you to do what you do on a daily basis?
The people I’m surrounded by both online and in real life. I’ve made some incredible friends in my industry who I’ve watched turn their passions into successful businesses. I love watching people create and thrive on what they love so they motivate and inspire me. Some of these amazing people include Sally Oneil (@thefitfoodie), Kristina Webb (@colour_me_creative) and Elsa Bullen (@elsas_wholesome_life)

How do you define success?
I believe success is having the freedom to live the life you want by doing what you love while working with people you love.

What is one piece of advice that you would give to others starting out?
Find someone who is living your dream and ask how they got there. Then do that.

One book you think everyone should read?
Haha I’m a podcast and audiobook-aholic so I struggle to pick just one  Different books speak to me at different times in my life. Some of my favs have been: – “awaken the giant within” by Tony Robbins, “The defining decade” by Meg jay and “a new earth” by Eckhart Tolle.

Are there any other Movers & Shakers out there in your world that you think we should all know about?
So many! I love what some NZ fellow millennials are getting up to! The guys from Motion Sickness Studio and The Social Club are doing amazing things. Also many of my Instagram inspirations such as Elsa and Lauren Bullen (@Gypsealust and @elsas_wholesome_life), Sally Oneil, Kristina Webb and Taline Gabriel
